Online stock trading in India?!?

I've been wondering for some time about how to go about opening a bank account in line with where I can buy / sell stocks online. I mean I want to buy and sell my part, I will not go to a brokerage firm. I manage my own money myself. Thank you, AJ

For buying and selling stocks online you need to have the following accounts: (a) bank account online with ease – Eg. ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank etc. (b) Demat and trading account with a broker – such as Indiabulls, ICICI Direct etc. So in short you can not buy / sell shares online offline without an agent. However, you may buy / sell mutual funds online without a broker. You end up saving load MFs associated entry is generally 2.25% of total investment. To buy / sell online MFs do the following: (a) Select Asset Management Company (AMC) offers online transaction service (Reliance, Birla, Pru ICICI, HDFC etc are providing this service while some like Tata, JM etc does not provide the same). Verification banks with AMC support for online transaction. Open bank account online with ease at any bank. (B) form download request AMC website, take print, fill in the details, including PAN card, check (payable preferably at par in all India) and submit the application to the nearest office or AMC Investor Service Centre. You will find details of the AMC offices / Investor Service Centre on the AMC website. You can also send appliaction by mail to the nearest office if it is not in your city. Be careful to fill in "direct" and sub broker and agent code application form. (C) Wait Statement (takes about 2 weeks). (D) Request PIN (PIN AMC Some offer online via registered mail by id example. – Birla and ICICI Rleiance while others require an application and PIN that you can download from their websites) (e) of buying and selling online DIRECTLY Start MFs without a broker.
